Kristi Noem Falsely Claims ICE Agent Was ‘Ran Into’ Before Deadly Shooting In Minneapolis

Without evidence, Kristi Noem, secretary of Homeland Security, doubled down on her accusation that Renee Good, the woman shot and killed Wednesday by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, was committing “domestic terrorism.”
“She weaponized her vehicle to conduct an act of violence against a law enforcement officer and the public,” Noem said on Sunday’s episode of CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Just hours after the shooting Wednesday, Noem said in a news conference that ICE agents were trying to remove a vehicle that was stuck in the snow. Noem said a “mob of agitators” were “harassing” the ICE agents and blocking them in with their cars and “impeding law enforcement operations.” Noem went on to claim that officers ordered Good to get out of her car, but instead she “weaponized” her car and attempted to run over Jonathan Ross, the veteran ICE agent. Noem claimed Ross “feared for his life” and fired “defensive shots.”
Jake Tapper, the host of CNN’s “State of the Union,” pressed Kristi Noem on releasing a statement on what happened before there was an investigation.
“Everything that I’ve said has been proven to be factual and the truth,” Noem said on Sunday’s episode of “State of the Union.” “This administration wants to operate in transparency. I have the responsibility as the secretary of Homeland Security to know this information as soon as possible.”

Noem continued, saying she had conversations with officers and decided the department “and the people of this country deserve to know the truth.”
However, video shows that Good was trying to turn her car on the street when Ross shot and killed her through her windshield.
Good’s ex-husband told the Associated Press that Good was driving home from dropping off her 6-year-son at school when she encountered ICE agents. Noem said Good was blocking traffic for “minutes” and was yelling at them and “impeding a federal law enforcement investigation.” Good’s wife, Becca Good, told local media that the two had gone to the scene where ICE agents were to support their neighbors.

Different video angles show ICE agents approaching Renee Good and telling her to get out of her car. Video then shows her turning her car away from Ross when he shot and killed her. While several bystanders ran toward Good’s car to offer aid, the ICE agents did not.
Still, Noem claimed on “State of the Union” that everything she has said has been “factual” after talking to officers and watching videos. Noem also claimed that Good “ran into” Ross, which video does not show.
