Uber driver killed in Bolton horror crash pictured as household pay tribute to ‘finest dad’

A taxi driver killed in a Bolton crash that saw four people die has been pictured for the first time as his family have been tribute to the “best dad”.

Mosrab Ali, an Uber driver from Blackburn, tragically died in a crash along Wigan Road in Bolton at 12.50am in the early hours of the Sunday morning (January 11).

The 54-year-old was driving his Citroen C4 Picasso when he was reportedly hit head on by a red Seat Leon.

Mosrab sadly passed away at the scene as three teenagers in the Seat, named locally as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali, also died.

Two passengers who were in Mosrab’s taxi at the time were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, reports the MEN.

Mosrab’s oldest child, Humayra, 29, described her dad as “the gentlest soul” in a tribute following his death.

She said: “Nobody has a bad word to say against him, he was so kind and the best dad.

“When they knocked on our door and told us what had happened I was just so confused. Dad was such a safe driver and even when we said we were worried something might happen he would say ‘don’t worry about me’.”

His family say Mosrab has worked as a taxi driver for around 10 years, and there had been no concerns about him driving late at night.

Humayra also praised the police for allowing the family to have the chance to say good bye in the mortuary, which is closed on a weekend.

She added: “They said the mortuary is normally closed at weekends but they arranged for it to be opened so we could go and see dad and say goodbye.

The collision is currently being investigated by Greater Manchester Police and officers have already obtained CCTV of the crash.
