Los Angeles Chargers hearth offensive coordinator Greg Roman after bleak playoff loss to the Patriots

The Los Angeles Chargers have fired their offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

It comes less than 48 hours after Jim Harbaugh’s team produced a lifeless offensive display in their 16-3 wild card playoff loss to the New England Patriots.

Roman, 53, was hired by Harbaugh when he took the Chargers job in 2024.

They finished second in the AFC West and made the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since a four-year run from 2006-09 but still haven’t won a postseason game since 2018.

Harbaugh was asked Sunday if any offseason changes could include moving on from Roman and he said, ‘We’re going to look at that, and everything.’

Someone who also seems likely to be gone is well-respected defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who came with Harbaugh from Michigan two seasons ago. He’s on multiple lists to be interviewed for the eight head-coaching vacancies around the league.

The Chargers also announced on Tuesday that offensive line coach Mike Devlin has also left the franchise.
