British women and men between these heights set to flee conscription in WW3 draft

While many Brits could be on the radar for military service in the event of a possible WW3 draft – a few lucky men and women may avoid the frontlines due to not being tall enough

As global tension skyrocket, many military experts have sounded the alarm warning the current size and scope of the British Army will leave us behind in the event of a major global conflict.

While the Prime Minister Keir Starmer has shied away from the idea of national service, his predecessor Rishi Sunak flirted with the concept during his time in Downing Street. Despite the call for national service, some men and women might escape due to not measuring up to the height requirement for joining the British Army.

Currently across the British Army the height of 4ft 10in (148cm) is the baseline for most roles.

This would in theory make every Brit under the height of 4ft 10 safe from being conscripted into the army in the event of WW3 military draft.

However the bar for entry rises when it comes to various driving and technical roles. A number of specific “trades” such as certain tank crew or heavy vehicle driving roles may require a minimum height of 5ft 2in 158cm pushing shorter Brits out of these positions in the event a military draft is raised.

The Royal Navy is believed to have a similar basic 4′ 10 height requirement.

While there’s no maximum height restriction to stop taller people from joining the British army, incredibly tall individuals who approach 7ft, may be restricted from certain roles.

They may be barred from roles such as being a pilot or working in armoured vehicles due to the lack of physical space for them in cockpits and inside tanks.

While the majority of Brits don’t have to worry about any potential height restrictions and pass the 4 ’10 requirement to join the British Army there are a handful of celebs from both sides of the pond who wouldn’t make the cut for conscription.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wouldn’t measure up for the height requirement as the American reality television personality only measures 4 feet 8 inches.

Olympic Gold medallist Simone Biles, despite her incredibly decorated medal collection, is another celeb who would struggle to reach the height requirement to join the British army – aside from the fact she’s a US citizen. The gymnastic legend is a surprising 4 feet 8 inches tall.

And finally American actor Danny DeVito is another who wouldn’t reach the height for conscription as he clocks in at 4 feet 10 inches due to suffering from Fairbank’s Disease, a rare genetic disorder affecting bone growth.

The Daily Star previously reported on a chilling warning military experts have announced stating Britain’s armed forces are at their weakest point since the Napoleonic wars, with younger single men and women potentially facing conscription.

The stark caution from the Chief of the Defence Staff wasn’t particularly novel or a direct appeal for military service, yet many contend the UK risks leaving itself with limited options as Labour struggles to provide funding whilst facing a potential £28 billion deficit.

Robert Lyman, a former Army major and military historian, cautioned that the UK finds itself in a “much worse” state than before World War Two erupted
