Horror as man and girl die in Barnet home blaze after 25 firefighters deal with flames

A devastating house fire has claimed the lives of a man and a woman in a quiet North London neighbourhood. The inferno tore through a semi-detached home in Barnet, prompting a 2am emergency response from the London Fire Brigade.
Twenty-five firefighters rushed to the scene on Albermarle Road, bringing the blaze under control by 3am. Tragically, two bodies were recovered from the property, and their next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but an investigation is underway. The Met Police stated: “The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and an investigation into the circumstances is under way.
“Officers attended the scene and assisted the LFB with road closures while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.”
The London Fire Brigade deployed four fire engines from three stations to combat the fire, which started on the ground floor of the two-storey property.
The LFB reported: “Sadly, two people have died following a fire in Barnet. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a fire on Albemarle Road, Barnet. The fire was located on the ground floor, in a semi-detached house of two floors.
“A man and a woman were removed from the property by firefighters. Sadly, both were declared dead at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
“The Brigade was first called about the incident at 0144, and crews from Barnet, Southgate and Finchley fire stations attended the scene. Firefighters had the incident under control by 0314.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.”
