Amazon driver ‘steals cat from dwelling’ in doorbell footage after leaving parcel
Doorbell footage shows delivery driver scooping up cat Nora and putting her in his vehicle in Elland, near Halifax, leaving the family devastated as the pet needs daily medication

The moment a cat was stolen from an owner’s doorstep
An Amazon delivery driver was caught on camera appearing to stealing a cat from the doorstep of a house he was delivering a parcel to.
The heartbroken owner, Carl Crowther from Elland, shared doorbell footage with YorkshireLive showing the driver approaching his front door.
Footage shows the driver then picking up his cat, Nora, and brazenly walking away before allegedly placing the cat in his vehicle.
The incident occurred around 2:30pm on Sunday (January 18). Carl has provided additional footage and images to Amazon and West Yorkshire Police in hopes that someone might recognise the man.
Carl said: “As a family, we were really worried as she always stays very close to home. This morning, after she’d been missing since yesterday lunch, for some reason I looked at the cameras to see if she’d been about over the late afternoon/evening.
“We were devastated when we saw the driver lingering about waiting to seize his opportunity.”
He added: “It was total shock and disbelief when he picked her up and shoved her into his car. This was also seen from my neighbour’s camera. Poor thing is on medication and has a heart murmur.”
Carl claimed that Amazon has tried to offer him money, which he said “isn’t any good at this stage”.
However, an Amazon spokesperson refuted this claim to YorkshireLive, stating that Carl has been directed towards the insurance protocol instead.
Amazon is currently investigating the incident and has maintained direct contact with Carl and the police.
The delivery driver involved is not directly employed by Amazon but works for a subsidiary.
West Yorkshire Police have been approached for their comment.
