Benidorm named hottest stag and hen do vacation spot for 2026 – and the typical vacation prices £365

Each year, thousands of Brits flock to a variety of lively European destinations for their stag and hen dos.

While warmer destinations across Spain, Portugal and Malta draw these pre-wedding parties with sun, sea and beachside cocktails, Central and Eastern European cities such as Budapest and Prague, offer vibrant nightlife at a lower cost.

But, according to new booking data from UK wedding travel specialists, StagWeb and GoHen, a standout destination has emerged, highlighting a clear shift in British party travel.

Thanks to its reliable nightlife, affordable accommodation, and a solid infrastructure for group tourism, Benidorm has been named the number one destination in Europe for British stag and hen parties in 2026.

The Costa Blanca resort has surged ahead of has long-established favourites including Amsterdam, Barcelona and Prague, with tens of thousands of British groups set to travel to Benidorm for stag and hen dos this year.

And with an average seven-night stay at a three star hotel costing as little as £365, it’s no surprise it’s become a go-to destination for pre-wedding celebrations.

Albufeira, a coastal city in Portugal’s Algarve region, falls in second place, followed by Dublin in third place.

The Irish capital is renowned for its pub culture and buzzing nightlife, with Bachelors Way being a prime spot for stag and hen parties, offering easy access to popular venues such as Temple Bar, O’Connell’s Bar and Fitzgerald’s.

As for Albufeira, groups can relax on its stunning beaches and explore its Old Town during the day, before hitting ‘The Strip’ – the official party hub of the Algarve boasting 30 neon-lit bars and clubs – after dusk.

Other destinations listed in the top ten include Tenerife, Marbella, Barcelona, Ibiza, Lisbon, Amsterdam and Budapest.

The findings show that although cities such as Amsterdam and Prague have long-dominated the UK stag and hen market, warmer resort destinations that can accommodate large groups have taken over.

According to industry experts, rising costs and tighter restrictions across select European cities have contributed to the shift, with British travellers now seeking out destinations that allow them to stay longer, do more and avoid complications.

As for Spain, stag and hen groups are quietly ditching Barcelona – traditionally a favourite – for alternative Spanish destinations that offer flexibility for accommodation and organised group activities.

Jon Stanier, Creative Director at StagWeb and GoHen, commented: ‘We’re seeing a very clear change in behaviour.

‘British stag and hen groups are being far more selective about where they go. They’re choosing destinations where they know large groups are catered for and right now, Benidorm is leading the way by a significant margin.’

It comes as British tourists – including those on stag and hen dos – are being urged to check the rules before heading off on holiday to Spain.

From drinking in public to wearing a raunchy outfit on the street, there are a few ways that Brits could get caught out this summer.

Chris Harrington, managing director at hoppa, says: ‘Spain is introducing a new wave of travel regulations in 2025, following record-breaking visitor numbers.

‘These new regulations have been put in place to manage mass tourism and public behaviour, and are extremely important to follow.

‘Failure to comply with new regulations can lead to holidaymakers being charged hundreds of euros, with more serious offences potentially incurring fines between €1,500/£1,279 and €3,000/£2,558.’
