Donald Trump leaks personal Macron texts earlier than threatening 200% Champagne tariff

Donald Trump appears to have leaked a private text he received from French President Emmanuel Macron over Greenland before he threatened 200% tariffs on French wine and Champagne.

Trump said the tariffs would compel Macron to join his “Board of Peace,” which aims to resolve global conflicts and restore stability.

“I’ll put a 200 per cent tariff on his wines and champagnes. And he’ll join. But he doesn’t have to join,” he said, referring to Macron.

He later posted a private message from the French President, who told Trump that the two agree on the issues of Iran and Syria, but said he did not “understand” what Trump was “doing on Greenland?”
