Why Brooklyn’s bombshell assertion ‘does not add up’: KATIE HIND exposes the holes in 26-year-old’s assault on model Beckham in new Daily Mail Deep Dive podcast
Brooklyn Beckham ‘did not tell us the whole truth’ in his bombshell statement attacking parents David and Victoria, Katie Hind has claimed on a new episode of the Daily Mail’s Deep Dive podcast.
In a lengthy Instagram post released on Monday night, Brooklyn, 26, accused his mother and father of attempting to sabotage his marriage to American actress Nicola Peltz.
He claimed Victoria cancelled making Nicola’s wedding dress ‘at the eleventh hour’, that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name, and that his mother ‘hijacked’ his first dance with his new bride, dancing ‘inappropriately’ on him in front of 500 guests.
The Daily Mail’s Showbusiness Editor challenged several of Brooklyn’s claims, particularly questioning accusations made about Victoria’s behaviour at the Beckham-Peltz wedding in April 2022.
‘It’s worth pointing out that recollections of their wedding vary’, Hind told podcaster Jamie East.
In a lengthy Instagram post released on Monday night, Brooklyn (R) accused his mother and father of attempting to sabotage his marriage to American actress Nicola Peltz (L)
‘Brooklyn and Nicola sold the pictures of the wedding to British Vogue, which was the new done thing among celebrity couples – we recently saw Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty do it too.
‘In the copy from Vogue that appeared afterwards in 2022, it said that Nicola and Brooklyn had their first dance to Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.
‘It also said that later, at around 11pm, singer Marc Anthony appeared, opening a set with his song I Need to Know. According to Vogue, Brooklyn then invited his mother on stage for a dance.
‘That account doesn’t quite fit with what Brooklyn was saying.’
When host East pointed out the family would have wanted to present themselves positively in Vogue, casting doubt on that account, Hind raised another inconsistency involving Brooklyn’s claim about the rights to his name.
The 26-year-old wrote that his parents tried to pressure him into signing away rights to his name before his wedding, affecting the family’s ‘payday’ when he refused.
‘There are other things that don’t quite add up’, Hind said.
‘It is my understanding that Victoria owned the rights to the name, Brooklyn Beckham, until the end of this year.
‘What I am being told is that the trademarking of the name was done for housekeeping reasons, to avoid other people trademarking it, and that this is all nonsense.
Hind insisted that she wasn’t trying to protect David and Victoria by casting doubt over Brooklyn’s statement
‘In the statement then, Brooklyn didn’t tell us the whole truth, the whole story. I wonder if that’s because, if he did, it would make him sound ridiculous.
‘Victoria also trademarked Harper Beckham’s name as well – I think she’s doing this to protect them.’
However, Hind insisted that she wasn’t trying to protect David and Victoria by casting doubt over Brooklyn’s statement.
She admitted to having her own ‘ups and downs’ with the celebrity couple in the past and that people close to them have told her ‘deeply unpleasant things’.
Despite putting on a brave face at Davos, Hind claimed David and Victoria will be incensed by their son’s social media tirade.
‘David will be absolutely devastated’, she claimed.
‘He will also be very angry, I think he’s got a temper. Victoria, I imagine, will be heartbroken.
‘I can’t see that they will respond to this… they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
‘I don’t know if Brooklyn and Nicola are finished. There could be so much more to come.’
