BREAKING: Elon Musk laughs as he mocks Donald Trump’s Board of Peace in Davos

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has appeared at the World Economic Forum gathering at Davos, Switzerland, for the first time after previously blasting it as a “world government”

Elon Musk joked about Donald Trump’s new Board of Peace as he appeared at Davos today.

His appearance at Davos marks a reversal for the billionaire, who has previously criticised the World Economic Forum gathering in Switzerland. The Tesla owner was speaking with Laurence Fink, BlackRock’s CEO and interim co-chair of the forum.

Musk suggested the name should rather be “piece”, saying a little “piece of Greenland a little piece of Venezuela”.

He said “We’re gonna make this interesting,” and then immediately took a dig at the US President. “I heard about the formation of the Peace Summit and I thought is that piece or … a little piece of Greenland a little piece of Venezuela,” he said.

In 2023 he trolled the elite meeting in a series of posts on his social media platform X. “We shouldn’t be obsessed with WEF/Davos, but they take themselves sooo seriously that making fun of them is awesome,” he wrote in one post.

In another he said the WEF “is increasingly becoming an unelected world government that the people never asked for and don’t want.” A WEF spokesman said that year that Musk wasn’t invited, despite his claim that he turned down an invite because he thought it was “boring.”

Musk’s appearance comes as he is embroiled in a war of words with Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary that began with a dispute over installing Starlink systems on Ryanair planes. O’Leary on Wednesday dismissed the tech titan’s suggestion he would buy the budget airline.
