Diego Costa savages ‘bitter’ Chelsea icon who ‘most likely does not get intercourse at dwelling’
Diego Costa has reopened his feud with one of his former Chelsea managers as he launched an explosive attack saying they ‘probably don’t get sex at home’
Diego Costa has launched a scathing attack on Antonio Conte, claiming the Italian manager was distrusted and “nobody liked him” after their explosive falling-out at Chelsea led to the striker’s departure.
Costa played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s Premier League triumph during Conte’s debut campaign as manager in 2016-17. The Italian coach arrived with considerable pedigree, and the fiery striker spearheaded the attack brilliantly as the west London side clinched the title in record-breaking style at the time.
Brazilian-born Spanish forward Costa found the net 22 times in a campaign that saw Chelsea go on a remarkable 14-game winning streak, but relations between Conte and his star man deteriorated rapidly after securing England’s top flight title.

He found himself dropped from the squad amid intense speculation linking him with the Chinese Super League. Over the summer, Conte informed Costa of his availability for transfer via text message, which allegedly stated: “Hi Diego, I hope you are well. Thanks for the season we spent together. Good luck for the next year but you are not in my plan.”
Conte moved to secure Alvaro Morata as Costa’s replacement that summer, which only intensified the animosity between the pair. The saga concluded with Costa returning to Atletico Madrid, though the resentment clearly lingers.
Speaking on the Obi One podcast, Costa said: “I went on holiday. I had a chance to renew with Chelsea. But then I sent a text message to Conte. ‘Boss, I want to know if you will count on me next season’. He replied to me via text message too. ‘Diego, thank you very much for everything you have done but I’m not counting on you’.
“He had something inside, because it’s not normal for a coach not to count on a player who was his team’s top scorer. I sent the message to Marina [Granovskaia, Chelsea’s former sporting director], and she immediately told me that what he did could not be done, that he was not the owner of the team.
“In the end I was in Brazil, I was with my family, and I told Marina that for everything I’ve done for the club, I don’t deserve to be treated like this.
“He’s a person who doesn’t trust others. He thinks he knows everything. You don’t enjoy training with him. He’s always angry, always with a long face. Probably he doesn’t have sex at home because he is a very bitter guy.
“It’s a shame because I was very happy at Chelsea but I did not want to cause a problem to the club because if I come back, the players want me to come back but nobody likes him.
“That’s why he didn’t last long. The past is the past. It’s a shame. The titles he won at Chelsea, he won it with me for his bad luck. So I wish him all the best in his life and that’s it.”
Conte’s second campaign at Chelsea would ultimately be his final one as the Blues suffered a significant decline under his guidance. A crushing 3-0 defeat to Newcastle on the last day meant they could only manage fifth place and were denied Champions League qualification. While an FA Cup triumph provided some consolation for the campaign, the Italian was still shown the door.
In complete opposition to his views on Conte, Costa has heaped praise on Jose Mourinho. It was the Portuguese mastermind who brought the striker to Stamford Bridge, with the duo claiming the Premier League title and the League Cup during their maiden season together in 2015.
“For me, Mourinho, personally, was the coach that I enjoyed the most,” he revealed. “This is because he gives you life. You come to training happy.”
Costa’s career has also taken him to Atletico Mineiro, Wolves and Botafogo. The experienced striker now finds himself as a free agent following the expiry of his deal with Brazilian side Gremio earlier this month.
