Federal brokers shoot ‘armed man’ in Minneapolis leaving suspect ‘down’
A Border Patrol agent reportedly shot one person in Minneapolis during an altercation, leaving the individual ‘down’ as medics rush to the scene.
Several law enforcement sources told Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin that a Border Patrol agent shot an unidentified person near 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue just after 10am Saturday morning, according to a post on X.
This is the third reported shooting in recent weeks involving federal agents in Minneapolis – coming after an ICE officer fatally shot a woman on January 7 and another federal agent wounded a man about a week later.
The person shot went ‘down’ as medics treated them and was transported to the hospital, according to NewsNation.
Officials have not yet provided any details on who the victim is or what led up to the shooting.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reportedly told Fox News that the suspect was armed, and the gun has since been recovered by federal authorities.

In a post to X, Melugin shared a photo of the gun which was seen lying on the passenger seat of a car.
Minneapolis city officials have since addressed the emerging news on X, stating they ‘are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area.’
‘We are working to confirm additional details,’ the post read. ‘We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to DHS and the Minneapolis Police Department for comment.
