Donald Trump well being thriller deepens as recent bruises seem throughout chaotic speech

The Orange Manbaby was speaking for his ‘Board of Peace’ at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland when the mark was spotted – his press team tried to brush it off

US President Donald Trump celebrated the one-year milestone of his White House comeback last week with characteristic bravado. Yet, his swagger hasn’t quashed persistent concerns surrounding the 79-year-old’s wellbeing, which have flared up again after fresh troubling images emerged.

At the ceremony on Thursday (January 22) for his “Board of Peace”, the Orange Manbaby was once more spotted sporting a prominent blue bruise across his left hand. It was running from his middle finger’s knuckle all the way to his thumb’s base.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has insisted the mark, which appeared to materialise within roughly 10 minutes, resulted from the president banging his hand against the table during the signing ceremony.

Leavitt has previously attributed Trump’s bruising to “tissue damage from frequent handshaking” – though crucially, this isn’t the hand the US leader uses for greetings. Claims have also surfaced suggesting Trump’s increased bruising susceptibility stems from his daily aspirin regime.

Pharmacist and health specialist Thorrun Govind told the Mirror: “Our skin becomes more fragile as we get older. In most cases, it isn’t serious, but repeated or unexplained bruising should be checked.

“As we age, our skin becomes more delicate and sheds some of the protective fatty layer that shields the blood vessels beneath. Tiny blood vessels become more fragile and prone to rupturing.

Trump confused Greenland with Iceland

“This means that even the slightest bump can result in visible bruising, especially on exposed areas such as the hands and arms.” However, this wasn’t the sole health worry amongst viewers of the address, with many voicing concerns about his cognitive abilities.

During four distinct moments at his World Economic Forum (WEF) appearance in Davos, Switzerland, Trump confused Greenland with Iceland. The Orange Manbaby, who professes his desire for authority over Greenland despite this evident mix-up, declared: “[Nato is] not there for us on Iceland, that I can tell you.

“I mean, our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money.

“But that dip is peanuts compared to what it’s gone up.” Seemingly oblivious to his blunder, he subsequently remarked: “I’m helping Europe.

“I’m helping Nato. And until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me.”

Questions surrounding Trump’s mental sharpness have arisen repeatedly following comparable errors. Moreover, psychologist and former Johns Hopkins academic Dr John Gartner has previously stated that the president displays “the classic signs of dementia ” through his frequently meandering speeches.

“He actually was extremely articulate”

In a conversation with PennLive last year, Dr Gartner outlined: “Basically, what we see are the classic signs of dementia, which is gross deterioration from someone’s baseline and function. That’s very important because one of the areas that we can most physically see this is in his verbal productions.

“If you go back and look at film from the 1980s, he actually was extremely articulate. He was still a jerk, but he was able to express himself in polished paragraphs, and now he really has trouble completing a thought, and that is a huge deterioration.”

This marks yet another occasion where Trump’s wellbeing has sparked fierce discussion and speculation. The septuagenarian leader has been caught on camera sporting marks on his hands and puffy ankles, whilst eagle-eyed watchers have spotted various telltale signs during his public outings that suggest potentially graver health issues.

Nevertheless, his physician recently provided a health bulletin, claiming that his cardiac age sits roughly 14 years below his chronological age. Yet, in spite of this encouraging medical assessment and the White House’s ongoing efforts to silence the whispers, bizarre episodes have left some doubtful about the president’s general fitness.

Indicators of “declining pace” rumours surrounding the US president’s wellbeing intensified as 2025 drew to a close, with observers pointing to alterations that suggest he may have been counselled to ease his professional commitments.

Trump subsequently unleashed fury at The New York Times in November over their piece examining his fitness and advancing years. Following the report’s publication, numerous individuals offered their opinions on the leader’s condition, with some proposing that a “subtle” adjustment to the president’s schedule indicates he’s been urged to adopt a more relaxed approach as he grows older.

“He’s often seen to be nodding off”

Despite his objections, questions persist regarding the reasoning behind his altered timetable. Nicholas, who runs News from Nic’s Kitchen on TikTok, highlighted the issue across social media platforms.

In a video, he remarked: “So, more questions about Donald Trump’s health have come up again today, folks. There’s been a report which has exposed Donald Trump’s reduced schedule.

“So, The New York Times have done an investigation, and they found out that Donald Trump has cut almost 40% of events compared to his first term. Trump’s day usually starts at about 1pm, and he’s usually finished and done by around 4pm.

“He’s often seen to be nodding off, dozing off, that kind of thing. It’s been noted on television and the camera, as you might be aware.

“The source for this is The New York Times.” “Pundits were left scratching their heads when footage emerged of Trump seemingly nodding off during a tumultuous press briefing in early November.

Adding to the drama, a guest at the White House fainted behind the US president as he was announcing more affordable weight loss medication for Americans. Luckily, two quick-thinking individuals nearby caught him, and Trump later reassured everyone that the man was “fine”.

“He looks like he is out cold”

However, it was Trump who stole the show at the disastrous conference, with viewers speculating that he was catching forty winks just as government official Dr Mehmet Oz announced, “People can sleep again”. One viewer quipped: “He looks like he is out cold.

“Could you imagine what Republicans would say if Joe [Biden] had a press conference and did this?”. Photographs of Trump’s hands have sparked significant health worries.

Nonetheless, the White House has maintained that the discolouration resulted from a mix of “frequent handshaking” and aspirin use. A letter from his physician, Dr Sean Barbarella, previously clarified: “This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

The President’s public appearance at a ceremony honouring 9/11 victims sparked health worries, with dramatic photographs and footage from the Pentagon event showing his face appeared asymmetrical. A sagging mouth on one side is a telltale indicator of a stroke, although Trump appeared otherwise fine when the pictures were taken.

He left the ceremony and has subsequently appeared at multiple public engagements without the same drooping look, though it has triggered anxiety amongst some observers. One concerned social media user wrote: “This is President Donald Trump’s drooping face.

“People are worried about his health. We pray for him.”

Onlookers have also spotted a concerning detail during Trump’s public outings – his puffy ankles, which appear to spill over his shoes. This sighting sparked conjecture that made its way to the White House, prompting the president’s doctor to reveal in a correspondence that Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common ailment among those over 70.

Whilst Trump’s countless bizarre public displays have turned heads, his unexplained vanishing acts have equally sounded warning signals. Come August, the habitually publicity-hungry president vanished entirely during the Labour Day weekend, stoking frenzied whispers that he might have died.
