World’s oldest twin prostitutes’ careers – from ‘filthy gnome’ to ‘Easter bunny’
From an early age, Martine and Louise Fokkens have been involved in the sex business in Amsterdam and have collected plenty of hilarious stories to tell along the way
The world’s oldest twin prostitutes have confessed the sauciest secrets of their sex-soaked lives and what they plan to do next. From encounters with a “filthy gnome”, a man dressed as the Easter Bunny, and even a future queen, Martine and Louise Fokkens have seen it all.
Raised in poverty in Amsterdam, the sisters grew up just streets away from the Red Light District. Louise was only 17 when she entered the business of sex, after being introduced to it by her husband.
What began as just an average night out at the funfair ended with the teenager standing in a glowing red window, advertising herself to passers-by.
“That’s how fast it went,” she said in a interview with The Sun. A few years later, it was Martine’s turned to join her sister down the controversial career path.
Married with kids, she worked as a cleaner in a brothel, often clocking off when the streets were empty and the lights were out. Men would ask her to join them, but she always laughed it off.
However, her husband eventually lost his job in a brutal builders’ strike and she felt like she had no choice to but to turn to sex. “Without her I would never have done it.
“With her, it felt less frightening,” Martine admitted about Louise. Eventually, the pair opened their own brothel and later a traditional Dutch restaurant, De Twee Stiertjes.
Famous for their thigh-high leather boots, the sisters would stuff them with cash as they worked and, by the end of the night, money would literally spill out. Not every man came for sex, though – many just wanted to talk.
“It sometimes felt like being a social worker,” Martine said. Some of their highlights include a man who proudly called himself a “filthy little gnome”.
Louise joked that he looked as if he was “about to explode into confetti”. Elsewhere was the Easter Bunny – a fully grown man determined to ruin a wholesome children’s holiday forever – and a punter who left behind his prosthetic leg.
One day in 1965, a Salvation Army officer named Major Bosshardt dropped by the twins’ brothel – accompanied by a sharply dressed woman calling herself “Toos”. The pair were unimpressed until they later found out that she was Princess Beatrix – the future Queen of the Netherlands – on a secret fact-finding mission.
Nowadays, Martine and Louise are itching to do something new to grab people’s attention. Although they’ve never heard of TikTok or OnlyFans, they reckon their lives would make perfect Netflix material.
However, the last thing the twins said they want the show to be is a morality lesson for the masses. Their idea is instead to reflect the reality of sex workers’ lives, from the loneliness to the laughter – and of course, the naughtiness.
