Man Utd information: Bruno Fernandes substitute recognized as ‘inexperienced mild’ given for £70m deal
Manchester United are preparing for a major summer transfer window as the Red Devils have seemingly identified a replacement for Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United are riding high following stunning triumphs over Manchester City and Arsenal. United appear transformed under caretaker manager Michael Carrick, who has thrust himself into the running for the permanent position.
That’s assuming his team maintains their impressive run by securing a Champions League berth. Up next is Sunday’s home encounter with Fulham, who are also pursuing European qualification under well-regarded manager Marco Silva.
In contrast to the managerial uncertainty, January has been relatively quiet on the transfer front at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, intense preparations are taking place behind closed doors and Daily Star Sport delivers the latest United transfer updates….
Bruno Fernandes replacement identified
United would be reluctant to part with their skipper, Bruno Fernandes, who has been amongst the club’s most dependable stars in recent seasons. Yet, there have been hints that the Portuguese midfielder has grown weary of the constant turmoil at the club and might seek an exit this summer, reports the Mirror.
Those would be considerable boots to fill, but according to former Liverpool and England midfielder Danny Murphy, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer could be the answer. With reports suggesting he’s unsettled at Chelsea – another club plagued by managerial instability – Palmer would allegedly contemplate joining the team he followed as a youngster.
Whilst it would require a substantial offer to prise him away from Stamford Bridge, Murphy believes it’s feasible. He told BestBettingSites: “The way football works, if you’re a player of that quality and you’ve always had a love for a particular club, it’s not a huge stretch to imagine things lining up, especially if United were to go on a run.
“A lot of Chelsea fans think the club is more of a business than a football project, so could I see Cole Palmer leaving for Manchester United? Yes, I could. I wouldn’t want it to happen, but I could see it. Bruno Fernandes needs a successor.”
Man Utd get approval for £70m transfer
United are on high alert after learning that AC Milan are prepared to cash in on Portuguese winger Rafael Leao this summer.
Despite Patrick Dorgu’s impressive recent displays since being deployed in a more advanced position, United are seeking to bolster their left flank, according to the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old Leao, who has previously attracted interest from Arsenal, has emerged as a potential target with a valuation of approximately £70m, which would assist the San Siro outfit in their planned squad reconstruction.
Leao has undoubtedly established himself in Serie A with 78 goals and 65 assists across 278 outings. Among his admirers is Milan icon and former United frontman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has described him as “magic” and “one of the best players in the world”.
