Police swarm Asda after ‘buyer threatens with a knife’ as girl injured

Police swarmed an Asda supermarket in Leeds, West Yorkshire, after reports of a customer allegedly make threats while holding a knife.
West Yorkshire Police arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article in a public space following the incident at Asda on Killingbeck Road.
Calls were made just after 4.30pm yesterday (January 28) regarding a customer making threats while holding a knife. Security staff at Asda were reportedly able to detain the woman, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.
In a statement, a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed the incident and the arrest.
They said: “At 4.36pm yesterday officers were called to Asda on Killingbeck Drive, Leeds, to reports a customer was making threats with a knife.
“Security staff detained a woman aged 23 and she was arrested by officers on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article in a public place, she’s been taken to hospital with a minor injury to her hand.
“A woman also suffered a minor injury to her hand. Enquiries remain ongoing by Leeds CID. “
