Sky Sports lose Chisora vs Wilder broadcast rights as DAZN muscle in… with O2 Arena confirmed as location for heavyweight showdown

Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder have officially signed the final contracts for their blockbuster heavyweight showdown on April 4, with the fight now set to be broadcast live and exclusively on DAZN rather than Sky Box Office.

Daily Mail Sport can exclusively reveal that the bout will take place at London’s iconic O2 Arena and will be staged by MF Pro – headed by Kalle and Nisse Sauerland – and co-promoted by Queensberry Promotions.

The contest had initially been agreed with Sky Box Office, but the overwhelming global interest has seen DAZN swoop in to secure exclusive worldwide broadcast rights for one of the most anticipated heavyweight clashes this year.

Kalle Sauerland hailed the announcement, saying: ‘Two massive names and two true legends of the sport will collide on one unforgettable, historic night in the heavyweight division.

‘Derek Chisora v Deontay Wilder will be a genuine heavyweight shoot-out – a fight about legacy. One legend on the brink of departure, another chasing further glory.

‘At MF Pro, alongside our partners at DAZN and Queensberry, we are proud to deliver this spectacle live and exclusively to boxing fans across the world.

‘For those lucky enough to witness it in person at the iconic O2, they will be watching boxing history unfold – a fight that will be replayed and remembered for decades.

‘The stakes couldn’t be higher. This is about legacy, history, and it promises to be absolutely spine-tingling.’

The card is expected to be stacked with British talent. Cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley, widely regarded as one of the division’s rising forces, is understood to be lined up for the co-main event over the Easter weekend.

Welterweight star Harlem Eubank, cousin of Chris Eubank Jr, is also expected to feature on what is shaping up to be one of the biggest cards of the year.

Chisora has become one of the most beloved fighters of his generation, earning admiration for his durability, fearlessness and willingness to face the very best.

The British heavyweight has shared the ring with elite names including Vitali Klitschko, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Standing opposite him on April 4 in London will be one of the most feared punchers boxing has ever known.

Deontay Wilder, the ‘Bronze Bomber’, reigned as WBC heavyweight champion for five years, building a reputation for devastating knockouts before losing his title to Fury in their 2021 rematch.

On April 4, two careers, two legacies, and one unforgettable night, collide.
