Cabin crew compelled to scoop human poo after aircraft’s bogs fail at 30,000 ft

Cabin crew on a Philippine Airlines Boeing 777 flight from Los Angeles to Manila were filmed manually scooping human waste from all 11 failed toilets mid-flight after a lavatory malfunction

This is the moment cabin crew are forced to manually scoop human waste after all onboard lavatories on the Boeing 777 failed during a long-haul flight from Los Angeles, USA. The incident reportedly happened on Philippine Airlines Flight PR113 flying from the US state of California to Manila, Philippines, last week (January).

The failure occurred during the 15-hour journey when the aircraft was about six hours from the nearest diversion airport, Guam. All 11 onboard toilets reportedly became inoperable at the same time, prompting discussions about an emergency diversion, which was ultimately rejected by the flight’s captain.

Video filmed by crew members shows cabin staff scooping human waste from toilet bowls and draining it into adjacent sinks after they were allegedly forced by a supervising authority to clean them.

The process was carried out behind closed doors, and no formal passenger complaints were recorded after the flight. Moreover, the aircraft landed safely at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila without delay.

Following the flight, crew members reported the incident to the Philippine Airlines union, which criticised the handling of the situation and the decision not to divert. The union also alleged that no further internal investigation was conducted after the incident.

The airline has so far not commented on the incident. This isn’t the first incident of this kind.

Last year, a woman shocked passengers after stripping down naked and pooping on a flight to Chicago.

The routine Southwest Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Chicago took an unexpected turn after one passenger decided to cause a big stink.

Reports say the unnamed woman suddenly removed all of her clothes and defecated on her plane seat.

The plane was allegedly in the process of landing when the debacle occurred. Police and emergency services rushed to Chicago Midway Airport after receiving the strange call regarding flight 418, the Daily Star previously reported.

The flight was then taken out of service to be properly cleaned, according to reports. In a statement to NBC, Southwest Airlines said: “Our teams are reaching out to those onboard to apologize for the situation and any delay to their travel planes.

“Nothing is more important to Southwest than the safety of our customers and employees, and we appreciate the professionalism of our flight crew.”
