Hotel providing keep for ‘identical worth as a pint’ however ‘jail appears extra comfy’

The Smart Hostel in the Queensway area of London is offering beds for the “same price as a pint”, but some people said they would not be checking in at the spot anytime soon

A hotel is offering an overnight stay in central London for the “same price as a pint”. But while the price is incredibly enticing, it has also left tourists shocked at the quality of what is offered – with some joking that “jail looks more comfortable”.

Online influencer Ralph Smith could not believe his eyes when he managed to book an overnight stay in central London for just £10. The 23-year-old booked a “one-star” hotel to see what the experience would be like.

The content creator arrived at the spot and was handed fresh bed sheets to take up to his room. When he arrived, however, he got the shock of his life when there were eight other people were staying alongside him.

The Smart Hostel located in Queensway, London, is the cheapest overnight stay Ralph could find. He visited the spot on 21 January, documenting his time inside the establishment and giving his honest review on how the bed and amenities were.

Ralph’s clip racked up over a whopping 5,000 likes on social media platforms, with over 200 people rushing to the comment section to express their bemusement at how the ‘hotel’ operates. The room is kitted out with an arrangement of bunk beds stacked in rows of three.

There is one shared shower for the nine people in the room to use. The spot also features a kitchen which guests can cook in, and a dining area.

“Can’t complain about accommodation when you are paying £10,” Ralph told What’s The Jam. “I thought it felt safe, it was fairly clean and I would stay there if needed.

“If you’re travelling with a bunch of friends to London, seven of you could book a bed each and have an entire private room for just £10 a night each.” Viewers were left either alarmed or impressed by the footage.

One person said: “Same price as a pint in London.” A second person added: “The jail looks more comfortable and safe.”

A third viewer said: “Erm, that’s prison sir.” Another person added: ” £300 a month in central London.”

And a fifth viewer exclaimed: “I barely get a coffee and a croissant for £10 in London, that’s a great place and price. Even if it was a bit grubby, that would still be a steal.”
