  • Season Kick-off: The 2026 BetMGM Premier League Darts season begins this Thursday evening, with Newcastle serving as the host city for the opening night.
  • “ShowTyne” Stunt: To mark the arrival of the tournament, a massive golden dart was displayed on the banks of the River Tyne as a promotional stunt by title sponsor BetMGM.
  • The Line-up: The eight competing stars for this season were pictured at the Tyne Bridge: Gian van Veen, Stephen Bunting, Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price, and Josh Rock.
  • Total Prize Fund: The players will be competing for a massive total prize pot of £1,250,000 over the course of the 16-week tournament.
  • Golden Incentive: For the second year in a row, BetMGM is offering a special bonus: any player who hits a nine-darter will receive a set of 18ct gold darts worth £30,000.
  • Success of the Bonus: The “Golden Darts” incentive proved expensive for sponsors in 2025, with BetMGM paying out £150,000 worth of gold darts to successful players last year.
