‘Giant’ 6ft5in mannequin says males ‘freak out’ on dates and one left after her head hit ceiling

A 6ft5in model has revealed how men have walked out mid date and left her to foot the bill simply because of her height.
Charlie Mill, 31, said her towering frame has shaped every aspect of her dating life – from being questioned about her gender to men “fetishising” her. On one date, a man walked out because her head touched the ceiling – then texted her later and blamed her for his actions.
She claimed some men even get confrontational because they feel intimidated by her stature. The model, who lives between England and Spain, said: “Men have always been scared of my height and questioned my gender.
“I’ve been fetishised and used for money. I’m made to feel like it’s my whole identity.
“One man left a date when he saw my head touching the ceiling. He then texted me later saying I should have told him I was a giant.
“Men either want to fight with me because they feel intimidated or see me as a conquest and a joke – so I’ve always had trouble trusting [them]. I’ve been told many times that I’m too tall to date. I’ve been walked out on and been asked to pay for the meal, too.
“If I could rewrite the dating rules for tall women, I’d say that if they walk out, they have to pay.”
Charlie now feels she has to “warn” men before meeting them. She said: “Men have cancelled before the date before we’d even met.
“I had arranged to go on a date and this man found my work Instagram. He subsequently then messaged me to say he couldn’t be a laughing stock because he was smaller. It made me feel unwanted and uncomfortable in my own skin.
“I warn them and most of them do not take it well. They freak out, as if it makes them less of a man.”
She reached 6ft 5in when she was 14, which made school difficult. She said: “I was treated like a boy.
“They were always pushing, kicking and play-fighting with me. I was being called a man daily by kids and adults, being told I looked like a man and no man would want to be with me as my height made me manly.”
“Every day, I would make myself appear smaller, slouching down and hunching my back. It gave me bad posture.”
She said she’s determined to send out the message that she is no less female or worthy of respect because of her stature, Charlie added: “Tall women are women.
“Parts of us are taller than others and parts of us are smaller than others. We are all women and the bonus is that we can pick you up.”
