Girl, 10, left with ‘life-changing accidents’ in Bolton canine assault as armed cops swoop

A 10-year-old girl was left with serious injuries after reports of a dog attack in Bolton – armed police attended and two dogs were seized, with two people arrested

A 10-year-old girl was left with life-changing injuries after a horror dog attack. Emergency services swarmed to Roseneath Road in the Great Lever district of Bolton at around 3.30pm today (February 4)

The young victim was rushed to hospital with what are thought to be life-altering injuries, according to Greater Manchester Police. Armed officers also descended on the scene, seizing two dogs, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of having a dangerously out-of-control dog and are being held for questioning about the incident. A large police presence will continue in the area while investigations into the incident are underway.

In an official statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said: “Shortly before 3.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday, February 4) officers were called to reports of a dog attack on Roseneath Road, Bolton.

“Emergency services attended and a 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, believed to be life-changing. Armed Response Vehicles and GMP Dog Unit were deployed, and two dogs have been detained.”

“A 28-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a dog dangerously out of control, and are currently in custody. Officers will remain in the area as they conduct further enquiries and to provide reassurance to the community.”
