NBA despatched into meltdown by HUGE commerce bombshell as Dallas Mavericks deal $175m famous person away in eight-player deal
The NBA has seen its biggest trade of 2026 after the Dallas Mavericks traded away 10-time All-Star and $175 million man Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards.
The huge deal will also see Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum join Davis in DC, while Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, two first-round picks and three second-rounders will head the other way to Dallas.
ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to report the trade, adding that Dallas will receive ‘a 2026 Thunder first-round pick and a 2030 protected Warriors first-round pick in this deal from the Wizards along with second rounders in 2026 (Phoenix), 2027 (Chicago) and 2029 (Houston).’
The blockbuster trade sees Davis depart Dallas after less than two seasons, in a hugely disappointing look for the franchise who brought him in as part of the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade just one year ago.
During that time, he appeared in just 29 games for the Mavericks – eight of those preseason. During the current regular season, he has averaged 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the franchise.
