More Aptamil and Cow & Gate child method recalled after 36 infants fell ailing over ‘toxin’
Danone has recalled several batches of Aptamil and Cow & Gate infant formula because of the possible presence of a toxin linked to the poisoning of children, the Food Standards Agency said.
These formula products may contain the presence of cereulide toxin in some batches of the products. This recall is an extension to the Aptamil First Infant Formula product recall issued on January, 23, 2026.
The decision comes after 36 clinical reports of children suffering symptoms consistent with toxin poisoning linked to recent baby formula recalls, the UK Health Security Agency has said.
The UKHSA said it and partner agencies had received 24 notifications in England, seven in Scotland, three in Wales, one in Northern Ireland and one from the Crown Dependencies of children who had consumed implicated batches and developed symptoms.
