Which transfers home windows are nonetheless open as undesirable Premier League stars have main exit route

From Turkey to Slovakia, and even the sunnier climbs of… erm… Iceland, there are still many, many options for Premier League stars unhappy with warming the bench

The Premier League’s transfer window has closed – but that doesn’t means some top stars could still leave. After a rather . . . flat end to deadline day for most clubs last week, there are still many disgruntled starts and free agents who are desperate to leave or find a new home.

From the former England star Raheem Sterling who is now without a club after getting released by Chelsea, to Sunderland favourite Brian Brobbey, the exit door is still slightly open.

And while the top leagues like Serie A and the Bundesliga are no longer options for most, there are still some big potential places to go to for others.

The biggest window still open is in Turkey – which ends at midnight tonight – with Sterling linked with a move to mid-table club Samsunsport. They’re currently 19 points behind league leaders Galatasary, and nine points behind surprise European football chaser Goztepe.

Greek journalist George Tsarouchas has claimed that Sterling has been offered an 18-month deal on around £3.5million – an offer later confirmed by club president Yuksel Yildrim.

Also possibly moving to Turkey is Sunderland’s Brobbey, with Fenerbache looking to add him to their forward line-up with the hopes of overtaking Gala, as there’s just a three point gap at the top as it stands.

And want-away Manchester United midfield Manuel Ugarte could follow the duo to Turkey if Galatasaray bosses get their way, with talks over a move to Turkey being held by club bosses.

But if they don’t fancy the warm climbs of Turkey, there are plenty of other options . . . Slovakia, anyone?
