Naomi Campbell’s function in serving to Jeffrey Epstein attempt to purchase a luxurious flat close to the Kremlin

The links between Peter Mandelson, Jeffrey Epstein and Putin-linked oligarch Oleg Deripaska are revealed by emails in which Epstein explored buying a luxury apartment close to the Kremlin.

In 2009 – a year after Epstein had been convicted by a Florida state court of procuring a child for prostitution – he forwarded details of the vast two-floor apartment to Mandelson.

Writing back to Epstein, Mandelson appeared to offer to ask Deripaska’s opinion on the penthouse, saying: ‘Oleg has a great woman … who looks after a number of things for him (!) including property. Shall I forward to her for her perusal and view?’

At the time, Mandelson, the former EU trade commissioner, was business secretary in Gordon Brown’s Labour government. It came after MI6 had been warned by EU security services that Moscow was targeting Mandelson through his relationship with Deripaska, and had been tracking his relationship with Epstein.

The emails show an associate of Russian property billionaire Vladislav Doronin had emailed Epstein with details about property in one of Moscow’s two Capital City towers, 2.5 miles from the Kremlin.

‘The building stands on the Moscow River with the main view to Moscow Kremlin and historical centre,’ the associate wrote.

‘Mr Doronin proposes you [have] two floors and [a] terrace on top with fantastic view to all Moscow and its outskirts.’

Mr Doronin was at the time in a relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell, who appears to have instigated the contact between Capital Group, her boyfriend’s development firm, and Epstein. On October 27, 2009, Mr Doronin’s personal assistant emailed Epstein to say that ‘as per Naomi’s request’ she was sending him a link to the property company’s website, which included information on luxury apartments.

The files have also revealed the extent of the friendship between Ms Campbell and Epstein, both before and after his 2008 conviction. Emails show Ms Campbell repeatedly inviting him to high-profile fashion parties, and to her 40th birthday party in Cannes, a ‘Fire and Ice’ gala thrown by Doronin.

There are also a series of messages relating to Ms Campbell requesting a lift on his private jet, and calling him repeatedly.

‘Please call Naomi right away,’ runs one message from 2015. ‘She says she really needs to speak to you.’ Another from the same year from Ms Campbell reads: ‘I want to see Jeffrey… is he going to Morocco?’

Ms Campbell has previously described Epstein’s behaviour as ‘indefensible’.

She has said: ‘When I heard what he had done, it sickened me to my stomach…. I stand with the victims.’
