What we know so far about the Super Bowl halftime performers as Trump confirms: “I’m anti-them.”

  • The Super Bowl Halftime Show will take place during the Super Bowl, tonight [8 February 2026] at 11:30pm UK time. The game will see the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks go head to head to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which will be presented to the owner of the winning team at the closing ceremony.
  • UK fans can tune in on live on Channel 5, Sky Sports and DAZN, and over 100 million viewers will be watching from the US alone.
  • The 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show will be performed by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, which happens days after he was awarded the Grammy for Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS [I Should Have Taken More Photos]. He is expected to perform for around 12 to 15 minutes as the break is usually half an hour.
  • Bunny was the most-streamed artist on Spotify between 2020 and 2022, and once again in 2025. He was also a guest during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s 2020 Super Bowl performance that celebrated Hispanic culture.

  • The rapper’s scheduled appearance at the Halftime Show has been a source of controversy after he spoke out against the US immigration enforcement agency ICE. He recently decided not to bring his most recent tour to the US in fear that his fans would be kidnapped and defiantly stated: “ICE out,” at the Grammy Awards.
  • US president Donald Trump said of Bad Bunny and fellow performers Green Day: “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred,” however NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said: “[Bad Bunny is] one of the greatest artists in the world. It’s one of the reasons we chose him. He understood the platform he was on.”
