‘Shaken’ teen lady chased by two males after ‘making an attempt to lure her into automotive’

The alleged “accosting” incident took place on Felixstowe Road in Ipswich at around 11.20am on Friday, where two males are reported to have approached a teenage girl close to the junction with Hines Road

Police have launched an investigation after an incident where two men allegedly attempted to lure a teenage girl into their car before pursuing her down the street.

The alleged “accosting” episode occurred on Felixstowe Road in Ipswich around 11.20am on Friday (February 6), with reports suggesting that two males approached a teenage girl near the junction with Hines Road.

Suffolk Police reported that the men were in a “small, blue car” and engaged the girl in conversation, inviting her to “asked her to get into the vehicle”.

When the girl declined and fled towards Murray Road Park nearby, it’s claimed that the men gave chase, only to retreat when the girl screamed out, at which point they returned to their car. The police stated that the girl was left “shaken” but unharmed.

The suspects have been described as one black male and one white male. The first man is believed to be in his late teens to early 20s, with dark, afro-style hair, and was seen wearing a black puffer jacket, grey trousers and a black ski mask, reports the Mirror.

The second suspect was described as being of similar age and of medium build, with blonde hair and dressed in a light-grey Nike tracksuit.

Police have announced that additional patrols will be carried out in the area and have urged local residents to approach uniformed officers “with any queries or information they may have”.

In a statement released on Saturday, the police said: “The girl has refused and run off towards Murray Road Park. The men are then reported to have run after the girl, before the girl has screamed and the two men have left, returned to their vehicle and driven off along Murray Road, towards Felixstowe Road. The girl was left shaken but unhurt.

“Suffolk police were called a short time later and officers attended and searched the area but the vehicle and the suspects were not located.

“The first suspect is described as a black male, aged in his late teens or early 20s, with afro-styled, dark-coloured hair, wearing a black ski mask, a black puffer jacket and grey trousers.

“The second suspect is described as a white male, also aged in his late teens to early 20s, with blonde hair and of a medium build, wearing a light-grey Nike Tech tracksuit.”

The police are urging any witnesses to come forward, stating that anyone who may have seen the blue vehicle or the two men in the vicinity at the time can get in touch with Suffolk Constabulary’s South CID quoting crime reference 37/7326/26, either via their website or by dialling 101.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

“Anyone with a dash-camera driving in the area at the time or residents with CCTV or video doorbell cameras are asked to review their footage for anything that may be of relevance,” the police added.
