Michael Schumacher household pleasure as ‘his brother Ralf will get engaged’ – earlier than his ex-wife Cora sends message amid bitter feud

Ralf Schumacher‘s ex-wife Cora has sent a heartfelt message to him after it was reported he is set to get married to his partner Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne, 19 months after he came out as gay.

Schumacher, 50, married Cora in a lavish ceremony in Salzburg in 2001 and they were together for 13 years, sharing a son, David, 24.

However, after they split and Schumacher revealed he was in a same-sex relationship, their relationship escalated into a bitter feud, with Cora even burning her wedding dress.

She also made a public plea to Schumacher to leave her alone so she could ‘heal in peace’ after she had reacted angrily to his bombshell, claiming she had ‘wasted her best years’ on him.

And now, according to German outlet BILD, Schumacher will marry his partner Bousquet-Cassagne, 36, in the South of France this May.

But, despite their differences over recent times, Cora has sent her well-wishes to her former husband in a sign of potential reconciliation between the pair.

Speaking to BILD, she said: ‘Steven and I wish Ralf and Etienne all the best and much happiness.’

The Steven that Cora refers to is her new partner Steven Bo Bekendam, a 44-year-old American.

BILD reports that Cora’s message comes despite the fact she has had no personal contact with Ralf, who publicly declared his love for Bousquet-Cassagne in July 2024, or their son David, for years.

The report adds that the wedding celebrations will stretch over three days in Saint-Tropez, where Schumacher and his partner spend much of the year.

However, his decision to remarry has attracted criticism from one unnamed friend, who supposedly told BILD:  ‘Well, that’s a surprise. Ralf used to say, paraphrasing Oscar Wilde, when others were getting married a second time: “Anyone who marries a second time doesn’t deserve their first divorce”.’

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of their divorce, Cora was faced with several accusations about their 13-year marriage, including one claim that it had been a ‘sham marriage’, and another that she had been paid to marry the F1 star on a 10-year contract.

Cora has repeatedly denied both allegations and shed further light on them when speaking to German comedian Oliver Pocher last year.

‘Our falling out is water under the bridge, I’m getting along well with Olli [Pocher] again,’ Cora said. ‘Ralf, on the other hand, is blocked on my phone.’

Guesting on Pocher’s show ‘Hey Olli!’, Cora was again asked whether her high-profile marriage to Schumacher had merely been staged.

Pocher explained the rumour in more detail, saying: ‘Cora, she’s been assigned to him; she has a ten-year contract. When that expires, it’s over.’

But Cora denied the gossip, replying: ‘I’d be rich by now if that had been the case.’

Then, pressed on whether she didn’t notice anything during the marriage, Cora admitted: ‘Of course I asked a few times…. I didn’t know, otherwise I wouldn’t have married him. I wouldn’t have thrown my life away for any amount of money.

‘My best years.’

She also said the rumours about a sham marriage had hurt her ‘terribly’. Speaking to BILD in 2024, she again refuted the allegations, saying: ‘I didn’t sign a non-disclosure agreement in a marriage contract. It doesn’t say anything like that.

‘Otherwise, I would never have gotten married.’
