Sarah Ferguson claims ‘I would like cash’ after Epstein scandal as she plots comeback

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly planning a comeback to public life, having told friends: “I need to get back to work. I need money” in the wake of the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files

Defiant Sarah Ferguson is plotting an astonishing comeback to public life. It is understood the former duchess, 66, has openly told friends: “I need to get back to work. I need money” as she plans to reinvent herself in the wake of the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Reports claim Ms Ferguson is lying low while she “gets her head together”, having recently spent a few days with friends in the French Alps before moving on to the United Arab Emirates.

The author has also been spending time with her youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, who has been in the region for work, attending an art fair in Doha, Qatar. However, it is believed Ms Ferguson is now ready to make a comeback, and is reportedly even scouting around for a new PR team to represent her.

Until recently, the mother of two had been living with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, whom she divorced in 1996. He, though, left Royal Lodge last week, finally marking his long-awaited separation with Ms Ferguson.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor denies any wrongdoing, reports the Mirror.

And Ms Ferguson, who had been a TV personality with regular roles on This Morning and Loose Women until late last year, is now expected to attempt to forge a reinvention away from her former husband. She is said to have told a friend: “When I come back I am going to have to put some distance between myself and Andrew.”

As reported by the Daily Mail, Ms Ferguson is planning to stay “in the Windsor area”, where she intends to either purchase or rent a home.

However, she faces hurdles in securing new work due to her involvement in the Epstein scandal. A source told the publication about her return to the UK: “I don’t know whether Sarah is just deluded or desperate. She is 66 and has no home and no discernible income. The public is disgusted by what they have read. And how would she pay a new PR team to rescue her reputation?”.

Email exchanges between the former duchess and Epstein reveal her persistent requests for financial assistance to settle her debts, as well as ongoing practical support.

The emails provide evidence that she maintained close contact with him even after his release from prison for sex offences against minors, even arranging for her two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, to lunch with him five days post-release.

She also privately apologised to Epstein for publicly condemning him, asserting that she only did so to safeguard her career as a children’s author. The ex-duchess referred to him as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend”.
