Experts at SoloFun have revealed where the sex work capital of the UK as these 20 areas have the highest volume of sex workers per 100,00 residents

Experts have revealed the prostitution capital of the UK as they have ranked these areas in the UK as having the highest concentration of sex workers.

Sex work in the UK exists in a legal grey area. In the UK prostitution is legal aside from in Northern Ireland however any related activities such as soliciting prostitution, operating and running a brothel or controlling prostitutes for financial gain is dubbed as illegal.

The legal loopholes haven’t stopped sex workers in Kensington and Chelsea. The area has the highest concentration of sex workers in the UK, clocking in at 191 workers per 100,000 residents. The area is known for its sky-high property prices and higher than average income as the London boroughs is home to numerous high-net-worth residents. Areas with higher than average disposable income often means more scandalous services can be purchased.

This phenomenon could explain why Kensington and Chelsea finds itself on the top of this list. In second place is the City of Westminster with 165 sex workers per 100,000 residents. Tower Hamlets brings home the bronze medal with 112 sex workers per 100,000 residents.

The gap between these central London boroughs and the rest of the country is significant. The fourth-ranked area, Hillingdon, recorded 48 per 100,000, which is less than half the rate seen in Tower Hamlets. The data has been collected by SoloFun who looked at public listings across several popular UK escort directory platforms to figure out what areas across the UK have the highest concentration of sex workers in the UK.

The Daily Star previously reported on the prostitution capital of the world as Thailand’s Pattaya, dubbed “Sin City”, is the globe’s number one sex tourism destination.

The red light district has been called “the biggest brothel in the world”. Surprisingly prostitution is illegal in Thailand under the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1996. However the law is inconsistently enforced leading to the massive sex industry seen in the city. Police and politicians have tried to clean up the streets of the Thai city however the hundreds of gogo bars, massage parlours, brothels, Lady boy bars and sex clubs make it obvious their efforts have utterly failed.
