Tragedy at Collingwood College as pupil dies after ‘incident’ as air ambulance scrambled
A letter has been sent to parents informing them that a Year 8 pupil at Collingwood College in Camberley, Surrey, has died following an incident at the school on February 9
A child has sadly died after an “incident” at school. Tragedy struck at Collingwood College in Camberley, Surrey on Monday, February 9.
A letter sent out by the school stated that students had been made aware adding: “As a college community, we are deeply affected by this tragic loss.”
The South East Coast Ambulance Service was called to the scene around 2:10pm and was joined by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. A student was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Frimley Park Hospital in a life-threatening condition”, it said in a statement.
A representative for Surrey Coroner’s Court confirmed that the pupil’s death had been referred to the coroner Collingwood College is a co-educational secondary school with about 1,700 students.
A Secamb spokesperson said it was called at about 14:10 GMT and was joined by Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. A student was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Frimley Park Hospital in a life-threatening condition”, it added.
