An emotional new ITV documentary will see Freddie Flintoff meet patients requiring face-reconstructing surgery.
ITV has commissioned a three-part documentary series following the former international cricketer and surgeon Mr Jahrad Haq.
Under the working title Freddie Flintoff’s Mission: Nepal, it will see the pair heading to Nepal in a bid to deliver life-changing facial surgery.
Back in 2022, the 48-year-old’s life changed forever after a car crash while filming Top Gear left him with life-altering facial injuries.
Freddie subsequently had extensive reconstructive surgery led by maxillofacial surgeon Mr Jahrad Haq.
This return to screens sees the presenter bear witness to how specialist surgical care can be delivered to countries with limited healthcare.

Freddie said: ‘After my crash I had access to the best people.
‘Not everyone gets that. If there’s a way to shine a light on it, to use what profile I’ve got for that, then that’s what I’ll do…’
The adventure will see Freddie travel all over Nepal, while meeting patients of all ages and backgrounds – getting an insight into their journeys before the life-changing surgery.
Meanwhile, Mr Haq will join charity Face Facts as they strive to operate on patients who have little or no access to free healthcare.
It is intended to shine a light on the charity’s incredible effort to create lasting, sustainable change within the healthcare system.
Clare Cameron, Executive Producer at 72 Films, said: ‘This series is about humanity, resilience and the power of shared expertise.
‘We’re privileged to be working with Face Facts, Mr Haq and Freddie, whose own experiences will bring real empathy and openness to the story.’

Joe Mace, Commissioning Editor – Entertainment, ITV said ‘We are excited to follow Freddie and the team on this journey, one that will combine intimate personal storytelling with extraordinary medical access.’
Earlier this month, it was revealed Freddie had reportedly ‘defected’ to ITV after his final show working with the BBC came to an end.
He last worked with the corporation on Field Of Dreams which came to an end last year.
The series saw Freddie take a group of young men from Preston, Lancashire, on a cricket tour of India to show how the sport could change their lives.
Now it has been reported that he will be focusing on future projects with the rival channel.
A source told The Sun: ‘This is a huge development as when Freddie signed for Top Gear in 2019, he increasingly started to become a face of the BBC.
‘Although he wasn’t exclusive to the corporation, by early 2022, he delivered Field Of Dreams for BBC One, and had motor renovation show, Chasing Cars, in the pipeline.
‘But by 2023, Top Gear had been slapped on ice and the renovation show is now a distant memory. Field Of Dreams won’t be returning and Freddie has no more projects lined up with the Beeb.’
The BBC said: ‘We are incredibly proud of Field Of Dreams and, while there are no current plans for it to return, we would like to thank Freddie, the producers and all the contributors for three fantastic series.’
After fronting Bullseye on ITV he is expected to be starring in more shows with the channel soon.
