Jennifer Garner, 53, appears as nice as she did 20 years in the past whereas professional weighs in on her food regimen tips

Jennifer Garner looked sensational on Thursday evening in Los Angeles.

The 53-year-old West Virginia native was a knockout in a low-cut, skintight black dress that showed off her toned figure.

The ex-wife of Ben Affleck had lean arms, a tiny waistline and a natural glow as she mingled with Reese Witherspoon, the producer of her hit series The Last Thing He Told Me.

They were seen at Apple TV’s The Last Thing He Told Me season two Tastemaker Event at The West Hollywood EDITION. The second season debuts on February 20.

Daily Mail talked to functional nutritionist Dr Wilks about how Garner manages to keep her slim shape even though she is in her fifties.

‘There is no way this lady is eating chocolate chip pancakes with syrup for breakfast,’ Dr Wilks shared.

Dr Wilks added, ‘I am betting she is on a protein-heavy, fiber-packed diet while having very few carbs.’

The nutritionist guesses she has eggs with avocados for breakfast, a salad for lunch and fish or chicken for dinner.

Dr Wilks added, ‘A high-protein diet supports weight loss by increasing satiety, maintaining muscle mass, and boosting metabolism.

‘Eating proteins like meat and fish has a higher thermic effect. It’s good to front-load protein in the morning and pairing it with fiber.

‘Also, staying away from sugar and dairy is also a good idea, and I bet she does that. If Jennifer eats sweets, it is likely in moderation and earlier in the day so she can properly digest it before bedtime.

Garner has been open about what she eats as she shares cooking videos on Instagram with regularity.

Some of the recipes she has shared have been for Spicy Scrambled Eggs, Honey Lemon Chicken, Chicken Chili, Big Fat Salad with green beans, broccoli, arugula, roasted sweet potatoes, nuts, and cheese, Egg Bites with cottage cheese, mozzarella, bell peppers, and chopped spinach, 10-Grain Bread.

She has also baked her own cobbler and olive oil cake, but likely indulges only on special occasions.

In 2015 Garner said she went on an extreme diet to play a tough undercover spy for the CIA on TV’s Alias from 2001 to 2006. And she also watched her weight to co-star with Affleck in 2003’s Daredevil.

‘I dieted for so long in the middle of doing Alias and being a superhero, that there’s something in me that can’t do anything that extreme,’ the mother of three told Yahoo Beauty.

The Dallas Buyers Club actress added, ‘I mean, believe me, there’s always a point in the fitting where I feel like, “Why didn’t I just try to lose four pounds and then I could wear any dress?” I just can’t though.’

But the star still does her best to maintain a lean frame. ‘With food I’m probably good 80 percent of the time,’ the beauty said. Still there are some foods she cannot give up, she said: ‘I’ve found out that I cannot pass up pizza without having some. I just can’t! My kids have a lot of pizza. I can’t go to a kid’s birthday party without having a slice.’

And then there is her Once Upon A Farm business. She is often seen eating snacks from the brand in her social media posts.

Once Upon a Farm is a Berkeley, California-based, high-growth organic food company co-founded by Garner and John Foraker in 2015.

There is no added sugar, preservatives or artificial ingredients while non-GMO products are used for optimal nutrition. Snacks include oat bars, applesauce, coconut melts and fruit/vegetable puffs as well as smoothies.
