Nancy Guthrie investigators ‘detain 4’, as neighbor claims they noticed particular person shoot themselves in head and Range Rover is roofed with sheets whereas cops examine its trunk
At least four people were taken into custody by SWAT teams and FBI agents amid the nearly two-week search for Nancy Guthrie, it has been claimed.
Three people – believed to be two men and one of their mothers – were apprehended by Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies in Tucson late Friday night, roughly two miles from Nancy’s home, according to Fox News.
A neighbor told KVOA, the local NBC affiliate, that an additional person shot themselves in the head during the operation, though the report has not been confirmed.
During last night’s raid, the home in question was the primary – and only – focus of police activity.
A source told Fox News that a judge had issued a warrant for the home, though authorities have not confirmed whether the detained individuals are connected to the 84-year-old’s disappearance.
Some earlier reports suggested the home belonged to a former county attorney. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department clarified that these claims were ‘not accurate.’
Pima County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the SWAT operation at a property two miles from Nancy’s home was tied to her disappearance, adding that the action was carried out ‘at the request of the FBI.’
In a statement, the Pima County Police Department said: ‘Law enforcement activity is underway at a residence near E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave related to the Guthrie case.’

Roughly two dozen officers, including FBI personnel, were observed standing near blocked-off streets in heavy rain, while a Pima County Sheriff’s Office plane circled overhead in the Tucson neighborhood.
Marked sheriff’s vehicles were followed by a federal evidence truck, CNN reported, while forensic teams continued working in the area. A SWAT truck was also seen departing the scene.
The raid involved officers surrounding the property and removing two detainees – a man and a woman – from the Marana residence, NewsNation reported. A second man was detained after a traffic stop.

The driver, whose age and gender have not been disclosed, was taken in for questioning, though it remains unclear whether they are still in custody.
Fox News said the traffic stop, close to a Culver’s fast food restaurant, was connected to Nancy’s disappearance and to a search warrant served at an unknown residence nearby.

Sheriff Chris Nanos told AZ Family that the law enforcement action was part of investigators ‘actively working a lead’ in the case.

Nancy, the mother of NBC Today anchor Savannah, disappeared from her $1 million home in Tucson’s Catalina Hills neighborhood in the early hours of February 1.
She was last seen in Tucson on the evening of January 31, returning home after dinner with her daughter Annie, son-in-law Tommaso Cioni and her grandchildren.
The next morning, she was reported missing when she failed to attend a virtual church service with friends, Nanos said. The search is now approaching its second week.
Multiple ransom notes have been sent demanding up to $6million for Nancy’s release.

On Friday, investigators discovered that DNA found on Nancy’s property during the investigation did not belong to her family or anyone ‘close’ to her.
‘DNA other than Nancy Guthrie’s and those in close contact to her have been collected from the property,’ the sheriff’s department said, adding that investigators are working to identify who it belongs to and are not disclosing where it was found.
Investigators also found several gloves, ranging from roughly two to 10 miles away from Nancy’s home.
