Ex Nottingham Forest proprietor Fawaz Al-Hasawi stabbed at house by masked robbers

Former Nottingham Forest owner, Fawaz Al-Hasawi sustained multiple stab wounds after confronting masked raiders when they broke into his lavish £10m London home

A millionaire former Premier League football club owner has been stabbed in his own home by masked raiders. Fawaz Al-Hasawi was knifed as he tried to confront an armed duo who broke into his £10m property in Mayfair, London earlier this month.

In a hospital picture shared on social media, the Kuwaiti entrepreneur, 57, can be seen with his hands in bandages after the terrifying ordeal. He is thought to have been sleeping when thugs burst into his room, leaving him with stab wounds on his hand and neck injuries, the Sun reports.

It is not clear if anything was taken by the robbers who later fled. Al-Hasawi is known for being a keen collector of expensive watches. Met Police said the injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing and inquiries were continuing.

It is understood his lawyers urged police to give more details of the attack, claiming that other visitors from the Arabian Gulf “fear facing similar incidents”.

Meanwhile, messages of support have flooded social media. In response, Al-Hasawi’s lawyer, Khawla Mubarak Al-Hasawi posted on X: “Fawaz is fine, by God’s grace. May God protet him from all harm and bless him with the safety of his son, Abdulaziz.”

Al-Hasawi bought Forest from the estate of Nigel Doughty in 2012 and sold the Midlands club to Evangelos Marinakis in May 2017 after going through nine different managers in five years.

In June 2019, Forest were forced to deliver a legal letter to Al-Hasawi, demanding that he return Forest’s replica FA Cup. Fawaz had removed the trophy from the club to display in his home.
