Luke Littler planning enormous new change to wow crowds after signing new deal
Luke The Nuke Littler may ditch his iconic purple and yellow jersey for a new image, and swap his darts out too as part of a new deal
Darts hero Luke Littler could be about to change his double-top. The English number one is eyeing up a dazzling new look for the oche after signing a megabucks deal with sponsor Target Darts.
He may ditch his iconic purple and yellow jersey for a new image, and swap his darts out too. The teen sensation, who claimed the world championship title at Alexandra Palace, penned a decade-long contract with the manufacturer last month in what represents the most lucrative deal in darts history, valued at approximately £20m.
He said: “Now we look forward to what we’ve got to do with Target and see what plans (they have).
“New darts, new shirts and see what comes out for the next 10 years.”
According to the teenage prodigy, this marks a new phase in his career.
“Martin at ZXF, he done absolute wonders for me. Got all the deals for me and the best price,” Littler said.
“He’s had a good career and I wish all the best to him.”
While changes are on the horizon, that doesn’t mean Littler will immediately ditch his trusted setup.
He has already experimented with prototypes, including during exhibitions and tournaments in the Middle East, but remains cautious about fashion and equipment adjustments.
“That’s what my dad always says to me. If it’s not broke, then don’t change it,” said Littler.
“You’ve seen through the years I’ve tried with the gold darts, I’ve tried with the World Championship darts, but nothing seems to work apart from the Gen One’s.
“So I’ll stick with them, but if any new darts come out, I’ll obviously test them out.
“The new ones that are coming out, I’ll still practice with them at home and if I can find some sort of form, then I can take it to the stage.”
