Axed Question of Sport stars land enormous names for nationwide tour after BBC snub
Sue Barker, Matt Dawson, and Phil Tufnell have reunited for a tour around the country and they’re bringing some celeb pals on it with them
Axed Question of Sport stars Sue Barker, Matt Dawson, and Phil Tufnell have reunited for a tour around the country after their BBC snub and have brought a load of celebs with them.
The trio have pulled in an star-studded cast as they take the format on the road which apes the iconic quiz format. They will host a “reunion tour” called Sue, Matt & Phil Live! with guests including tennis ace Tim Henman, rugby hardman James Haskell and ex-footie stars Bruce Grobbelaar, Troy Deeney and Peter Beardsley.
Tuffers, 59, said: “Hitting the road again with Sue and Matt? Always a giggle. No two nights are ever the same as you never quite know what’s coming next, and that’s half the fun!”

Sue, 69, added: “We were just blown away by the amazing reaction to the shows earlier this year. Honestly, the three of us had such a wonderful time together. We can’t wait to do it again!”
The tour kicks off in Edinburgh on 24 April and finishes in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Other star guests include running legend Roger Black, swimming champ Sharron Davies and cricket stars Steve Harmison and Mark Wood.
Sue was “sacked” from her role as host of the BBC sports quiz show A Question of Sport in 2020 after 24 years, a move she described as “insulting” and poorly handled. She said: “Don’t get me wrong: I had no problem with being replaced. Everyone has their day.
“Producers must always have the right to refresh a programme and take it in a new direction. It was the way it was handled. It taught me there is actually no way of leaving a role in a nice, pleasant and helpful manner, with your head held high.”
