Sarah Ferguson ‘treatment abuse’ claims and fears for daughters in Epstein information
Epstein files contain claims about Sarah Ferguson’s alleged medication problems and concerns for Beatrice and Eugenie as email exchanges between Epstein and Mandelson emerge
A complicated image of Sarah Ferguson is gradually coming to light. Once viewed as one of the more carefree royals, the Epstein files have instead seemingly painted a picture of a desperate and financially reckless social climber who maintained dubious friendships and made questionable decisions.
Documents released by the US Department of Justice reveal that Ferguson took her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie to celebrate Epstein’s release from prison after he was jailed for soliciting a minor for sex in 2009.
She continued her friendship with the convicted paedophile long after she publicly disowned him, and she’s even alleged to have had a romantic relationship with him. Royal author Andrew Lownie told The Mirror: “Sarah was madly in love with Epstein and apparently spent several nights with him.”
Indeed, from a plea for the predator to “marry” her to angry messages accusing him of “disappearing” from her life and “using her” – the emails purportedly from Ferguson are quite intense.
But that’s not the only shocking claim that has surfaced from the latest revelations. An email exchange between Epstein and former US Ambassador, Peter Mandelson, seems to imply that the ex-Duchess of York was struggling with ‘medication abuse’, reports the Mirror.
The email was dispatched after Ferguson was exposed attempting to sell access to her former husband, Andrew, for £500,000. The sting operation involved undercover journalist Mazher Mahmood – the ‘Fake Sheikh’ – offering money to secure connections with Andrew, who was serving as UK trade envoy at the time.
Sarah accepted, declaring £500,000 “opens up everything you would ever wish for. I can open any door you want, and I will for you. Look after me and he’ll look after you… you’ll get it back tenfold.”
She subsequently broke down in tears when the reporter presented her with a briefcase containing £40,000 in cash. In the correspondence, a sender thought to be Mandelson informs Epstein: “Check out newspaper expose of Sarah today, cash for access to Andrew… I spoke to him yesterday, btw – he was with friends of mine in a restaurant in singapore.”
Epstein acknowledges he has viewed the reports, and Mandelson apparently responds: “Have you watched the video? She’s so desperate I feel sorry for her. But she will not recover from this.
“Does she admit her medication abuse and then go into rehab?” Epstein enquires before Mandelson purportedly answers: “That’s an option. But awful for her and the girls.”
Now, Royal biographer Lownie – who authored the explosive biography of Andrew and Sarah, ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’ – tells the Mirror that there is “no way back” for the disgraced royal, who he suspects may have been grappling with ‘medication abuse’. “She had a drug problem in Verbier,” he alleged, which was later “replaced by mixing alcohol and diet pills,” according to Lownie.
In 1986, the News of the World reported that Sarah had been frequenting the chalet of Paddy McNally, a businessman and ex-racing car driver. His residence in the elite ski resort was nicknamed ” Snow Castle” by the newspaper, following allegations that cocaine use was rife within the property.
