Toby Carvery leaves clients ‘gutted’ as certainly one of its 158 branches closes in metropolis

Toby Carvery has announced it will permanently close its Lincoln city centre restaurant on St Mark’s Square on February 28, with only breakfast service on the final day

A restaurant chain has revealed it will be shutting its doors in a popular city centre.

The Toby Carvery branch on St Mark’s Square in Lincoln is due to close later this month.

The establishment will remain open until 12pm on Saturday, February 28, and will only serve breakfast on its final day.

A statement from the business reads: “We regret to inform you that we will be permanently closing at 12:00pm on Saturday, 28th February.”

It adds: “We kindly ask for your understanding during this time.”, reports Lincolnshire Live.

“Our team are working hard to maintain the level of service you expect under the current circumstances.

“A special thank you to our team for all their hard work throughout the years and especially at this current time.

“We couldn’t have achieved all we have without your dedication.”

Locals have been heartbroken as they posted messages that they are “gutted” to see it close, reports the Express.

One user wrote: “This is so sad to read! I hope that you all land on your feet! TC will always hold some special memories.”

Another said: “Very sad to read this the staff are always so accommodating and friendly great customer service and the food is amazing there we visited yesterday and as always left very happy. Thinking of all the staff at this difficult time and hope they all find employment.”

A third added: “Genuinely gutted hearing you’re closing. Myself and my wife like coming to have your carvery anytime we can. Want to wish all the staff, from top to bottom, every time we came everyone was always nice, happy and professional. Always great service. Best of luck to all in whatever comes next.”
