Trans hockey shooter was cousins with the ex-wife he murdered at ice rink, data present

The transgender gunman who opened fire during a high school hockey game in Rhode Island was cousins with the ex-wife he murdered, records show.

Robert Dorgan, who also went by ‘Roberta Esposito’, fired shots inside the Lynch Arena in Pawtucket on Monday afternoon, killing his son Aidan Dorgan, 23, and his ex-wife Rhonda, 52, before turning the gun on himself.

Dorgan’s former in-laws, Rhonda’s parents, Linda and Gerald Dorgan, both 75, and her friend Thomas Geruoso, 54, an assistant principal at Shea High School in Pawtucket, also remain in critical condition following the rampage.

US Census records reviewed by The Providence Journal revealed that the divorced couple had the same last name before they were married because they are first cousins, once removed.

Rhonda’s grandfather is the shooter’s uncle, according to the 1950 US Census.

The record shows the family of Edward F Dorgan and his wife, Eva C Dorgan, living with their two sons, Raymond C Dorgan and Robert J Dorgan, in 1950.

Robert is the father of the ice hockey shooter. His brother, Raymond, is the father of Rhonda’s dad, Gerald.

Meaning, Edward is the shooter’s grandfather and Rhonda’s great-grandfather.

The shooter and Rhonda married in 1992, but she filed for divorce in 2020, citing ‘gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic and personality disorder traits.’

Those reasons were later crossed out and replaced with ‘irreconcilable differences which have caused the immediate breakdown of the marriage.’

Their divorce was finalized in 2021.

According to his social media, Dorgan had six children from multiple relationships.

His eldest son, Kevin Colantonio, is serving time in federal prison for setting fire to a predominantly black church.

Dorgan’s daughter from a previous marriage, Amanda Wallace-Hubbard, said her father ‘struggled with demons.’

‘Gender identity was not remotely a factor in him being ostracized from the family, at least on the part of myself or my siblings; it really was just a symptom of something that had been going on that was much deeper his entire adult life,’ Wallace-Hubbard told the New York Post.

She said Dorgan had a ‘vendetta’ against his family.

Wallace-Hubbard and her young sons were present while their loved ones were shot and killed.

She also started a GoFundMe for her half-siblings, Ava and Colin Dorgan, who lost both of their parents in the murder-suicide.

Dorgan’s social media pages also showed he considered himself ‘to the right of Hitler.’

He had a Nazi-inspired tattoo and voiced support in the past for ‘white power.’

He even posted an anti-Asian slur as he replied to a video praising Adolf Hitler just a day before the shooting.

That same day, Dorgan threatened to go ‘BESERK.’
