British influencer movie star ‘tried to kill husband on Majorca by drugging his wine after pressuring him to get life insurance coverage’
A British influencer allegedly tried to kill her husband by drugging his wine after pressuring him to get life insurance.
The 45-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of poisoning her businessman partner in Majorca on Wednesday.
Images published by Spanish media show the woman, who has almost 400,000 Instagram followers, in handcuffs being escorted into a courthouse in Palma on Thursday by two police officers.
Earlier this year, her husband was admitted to the hospital for three days, where tests determined that he had tranquilisers in his system.
On release, he went to the police station alleging he had been poisoned by his wife on January 10.
Recounting the moment he alleges he was drugged, the victim said his wife filled two wine glasses and told him: ‘Drink from this one, my glass, it has more.’
After tasting the drink, he complained it tasted bad, according to Spanish news outlet Ultima Hora, but his wife apparently insisted he finished it all.

When questioned by the medical staff, he denied taking anything.

Following her husband’s allegations, the woman was brought before a court in Palma on Thursday evening, where the judge released her with a restraining order.
In Spain, such orders often prevent the person under investigation from going within 200 to 500 metres of the victim and communicating with them.
The woman is a Spanish national but has a British parent, the Mail understands.
She is a respected English teacher and author and has made regular appearances on Spanish talk shows, through which she has amassed a large social media following.
Police are understood to still be investigating the case.
