Teens jailed for all times after dad stabbed to demise by way of coronary heart in racist assault
Kamran Rasool Aman, 38, was fatally wounded in a ‘violent and unprovoked rage’ by two boys, aged 17 and 16, as he was getting into his car in Barry, South Wales
Two teenagers have been handed life sentences for the brutal murder of a “loving” husband and dad who was fatally stabbed in the heart.
Kamran Rasool Aman, 38, tragically lost his life after being attacked with a kitchen knife in an unprovoked racist assault in Barry, South Wales. The two lads, aged 17 and 16, targeted the man as he was getting into his car.
A judge lifted the restriction on naming 17-year-old Marcus Staniforth due to his proximity to his 18th birthday. However, the identity of the younger defendant remains protected. Despite denying murder and pleading guilty to manslaughter, both teens were found guilty at Cardiff Crown Court following a trial on December 23 last year.
On February 20, the pair were given life sentences. Neither Staniforth nor the 16-year-old displayed any emotional response as they received minimum terms of 17 and 15 years respectively, reports the Mirror.
The court heard that the defendants had spent the day drinking. It was reported that the 16-year-old had chillingly vowed over his deceased grandfather’s grave to commit murder.
Prosecutor Owen Edwards KC previously said the 16-year-old spotted Mr Aman getting into his car while he was looking out of the window of a property. Mr Aman is said to have briefly looked at him, which prompted the defendant to shout, “What you looking at bro?”, before he started to punch his own head.

The 16-year-old said that he was “going to beat people up”, while Staniforth stated that he would “back” him. Mr Edwards said: “Kamran had done nothing to invite trouble. Kamran did not know (the defendants). Kamran was and always remained entirely unaware of why (the 16-year-old) backed up by his friend decided to focus his violent rage upon him.
“Kamran was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and the reality you may think is that anybody who stood in the way of (the 16-year-old) that night faced mortal peril. The extent of the aggression shown by (the 16-year-old) was obvious to all who witnessed it, including Staniforth who nevertheless decided to back him up.”
The court had earlier heard a harrowing statement from Mr Aman’s wife Khaleela, who said through tears: “Kamran was a larger than life personality with such a big heart, who would make sure everyone around him was okay. He never let anyone down.
“He was so much more than a husband, he was my best friend and soulmate. He was extremely loyal and would always show dedication to me. He would move the world for our wonderful four-year-old daughter.”
She said her husband’s death had severely affected their daughter, adding: “She will have to live with this for the rest of her life and this will no doubt have an impact on her development emotionally. We loved going to visit castles together as a family and spending days exploring. Our daughter was such a daddy’s girl.”
