Chris Eubank Jr sends brutal Eddie Hearn message after Conor Benn leaves to affix Dana White

Chris Eubank Jr has trolled Eddie Hearn after Conor Benn left Matchroom Boxing to join Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing in a lucrative deal

Chris Eubank Jr savagely taunted Eddie Hearn following Conor Benn’s shocking switch to Zuffa Boxing.

The bombshell news emerged that the 29-year-old had linked up with UFC supremo Dana White’s promotion in a controversial switch. Benn triumphed over Eubank in their explosive rematch in November, getting the better of his long-standing adversary and taking his tally to 24 victories, with his sole loss coming in his previous fight against his nemesis in April 2025.

Benn, 29, has now secured a reported ‘eight-figure’, one-fight agreement with Matchroom Boxing competitor Zuffa, walking out on Eddie Hearn’s promotion and leaving the man who stuck by him through thick and thin “devastated”. The move materialised just days after a venomous exchange erupted between White and Hearn, with both promoters trading brutal insults.

White is a newcomer to boxing, having made the audacious leap from his dominant reign over mixed martial arts through his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) empire.

Benn’s money-spinning decision delivers a devastating blow to Hearn and Matchroom, with one of their marquee fighters departing the stable.

The development triggered multiple reactions from Eubank, who has previously engaged in heated exchanges with the promoter during their press tour confrontations. Eubank posted: “Edddieeee how you feeling buddy? @EddieHearn.”

In his statement, Benn revealed he is targeting legacy bouts following a rumoured eight-figure agreement. He said: “First and foremost, I want to thank Eddie and the entire team at Matchroom for everything they’ve done for me over the past decade.

“From guiding me when I first turned pro, to headlining stadium shows. They were not only with me for those highlight moments but stood shoulder to shoulder with me during the tough times.

“It’s been a journey beyond anything we could have imagined, and for their belief, support, and guidance, I will always be truly grateful, but Zuffa Boxing presented me with an opportunity I simply couldn’t refuse.

“I’d love Eddie to continue to be part of my team and for our partnership to evolve in this new chapter. I’m filled with excitement and hunger for what’s ahead with Zuffa Boxing.

“I want the legacy fights, the biggest nights, the biggest stages. I fear no man at any weight, and I’m ready to give the fans the fights they’ve been calling for. I’m in my prime, and together we have bold, ambitious plans.”

Benn secured his position on the global stage and thrust himself into title contention after defeating Eubank Jr in their rematch in November at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He settled the score from seven months earlier, making his mark on the rivalry that stretches back decades after their fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank, faced off in two British superfights.

Speaking after the news emerged, Hearn appeared visibly deflated and took responsibility for permitting Benn to depart the organisation for a competitor, seeking to make a substantial impact on the sport.

“I’m not going to sit here and hang Conor Benn out to dry, I’ll be honest with you, me personally, pretty devastated,” Hearn said.

“I’ve had a few days to digest what might happen. Maybe this interview is different to what it would have been a couple of days ago, it’s not often you get shocked, I blame myself, because I forgot it was boxing.

“I just felt that the loyalty that we’ve shown would never ever put us in this position. I felt I never really needed to push Conor Benn to sign a new contract previously and I probably could have done. I blame myself, I made a mistake. I misjudged the character.”
