Manchester Britain First march and counter-protest LIVE as tons of collect

Hundreds of people are gathering in a UK city as Britain First supporters are set to march, with counter-protests planned.

Supporters of the far-right group are gathering near Piccadilly Station in Manchester ahead of a planned march focused on immigration and mass deportations. At the same time, multiple anti-fascist groups have organised counter-rallies. These include the Resist Britain First coalition and Stand Up to Racism Manchester, with gatherings set to begin from 11.15am in the city centre.

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is expected to address supporters at a Stand Up to Racism event in Piccadilly Gardens from 11.30am.

Police have confirmed a 10-hour dispersal order is in force across central Manchester, giving officers enhanced powers to remove people on if necessary. Greater Manchester Police say the order aims to “prevent anti-social behaviour, crime, harassment, alarm, or distress”.
