Grand National will get Wayne Lineker-style seashore membership for bikini-loving race followers

The Grand National is set to make a real splash this year – with its own beach club. Aintree will boast an exclusive O Beach – the famous Ibiza club launched by Gary Lineker’s brother Wayne.
Racing revellers will be able to watch the action on giant screens as they laze about in bikinis on sunloungers overlooking a specially-built beach and sea while listening to the strains of Ibiza dance anthems.
The club is one of a series of measures in the racecourse’s festival zone designed to lure in new young fans. According to the Grand National’s website the ‘world famous beach club’ will offer an ‘elevated social experience blending curated music, high-energy atmosphere and the unmistakable O Beach look and feel throughout the day’.
“Get there early to grab your sea, then soak up the Balearic atmosphere all day long with live racing on screens, and party vibes in between,” it says.
“Be one of the first to experience this unmissable experience and start a brand new Grand National story.”
For more than a decade, O Beach has been synonymous with sun-soaked daytime thrashes on the Spanish party island.
Racing chiefs reckon it will blend in perfectly with the Grand National meeting’s reputation for fun-packed festivities.
James Rennard, the racecourse’s head of marketing, said Aintree and O Beach Ibiza were ‘the perfect partnership’.
“We are delighted to be working with such a recognised brand,” he said.
“The Randox Grand National Festival is about world-class sport but it’s also about unforgettable days out and O Beach adds a new layer of energy, style and atmosphere that we know our audience will love.”
O Beach owner Tony Truman said taking it to Aintree for all three days of the Grand National festival in April was ‘a massive moment for us’.
”It’s one of the most iconic weekends in the UK calendar with an unbelievable atmosphere and we’re excited to bring our own flavour to it – great music, great energy and a proper party feel that adds something extra to the day,” he said.
As O Beach’s website states: “We didn’t invent the pool party, we just perfected it.”
