Sin City scuffle as ladyboys ‘gang up’ and ambush vacationer in hotpants and excessive heels

Markus Santl, 55, was allegedly set upon by a group of transgender women in Pattaya, Thailand, after he accused one of them of stealing cash from his hotel room

A holidaymaker was assaulted by a group of transgender women after six of them reportedly “ganged up” on him at a popular tourist destination. Markus Santl, 55, picked up one of the sex workers before taking her back to his hotel in Pattaya, Thailand.

However, after their encounter, Markus discovered that 35,000 baht (£835) and 1,200 euros (£1,048) were missing from his safe. Suspecting that the sex worker had made off with his money whilst he was showering, he set out to find her on the streets and soon spotted her near a beach.

But when he attempted to confront her, a group of sex workers suddenly emerged and cornered him against a wall. Allegedly, they shouted, “get his wallet”, during the scuffle.

The victim was heard calling for the police as one of the workers tried to snatch the wallet from his back pocket. The group scattered when officers arrived.

A bystander who saw the incident unfold said: “They ganged up on a single man, this guy, before his wallet fell to the ground and he was kicked in all directions. I picked it up and returned it to the foreigner, and then the transgender woman even insulted me.”

Firefighters later assisted Markus in retrieving his phone, which had slipped through the drain grates. Locals stated that violent incidents involving ladyboys are common in the city, particularly around Pattaya’s infamous Beach Road, a two-and-a-half-mile stretch teeming every night with street sex workers awaiting clients.

Despite routine police operations, sex workers scatter when they spot approaching officers, only to reassemble once patrol cars have departed. Frustrated police even acknowledge privately that they have limited options to tackle the problem.

A police station spokesperson stated: “Upon receiving the complaint, we deployed officers to the area to investigate, gather evidence, and pursue legal action against these offenders.”

On February 17, a Chinese tourist was allegedly beaten and robbed by three transgender women when he refused to pay the extra fees they demanded.

On February 11, a group of transgender women had a mass street brawl with British tourists over alleged missing money in the same city. Pattaya has emerged as the nation’s premier tourist hotspot, driven by the appeal of bars, massage parlours, and inexpensive sex.

The resort is frequently dubbed ‘Sin City’.

Some ‘sexpats’ have labelled it a ‘p**** Disneyland’, where they can discover relationships and encounters not readily accessible in their home countries. Nevertheless, the area is increasingly viewed as damaging Thailand’s broader reputation as a family-orientated holiday spot boasting magnificent beaches, cuisine and rich cultural heritage.
