Snoop Dogg’s £118m web value as he turns into Swansea City minority proprietor
Snoop Dogg visits Swansea City for the first time as minority co-owner and asks fans for a rousing reception – here’s what you need to know about the rap legend’s £118million fortune and marriage
Snoop Dogg has urged Swansea City fans to give him a thunderous welcome as he gears up for his maiden visit to the club as a minority shareholder. The American rap icon joined as a co-owner at the Welsh side last summer through a consortium featuring Ballon d’Or champion Luka Modric and TV star Martha Stewart.
The 54-year-old will make his inaugural appearance at the Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday night when the hosts take on Preston in a midweek Championship clash. The Swans are looking to rise from 15th position and draw level with Preston on 48 points.
The club posted Snoop’s ‘towel twirl’ appeal on social media, stating: “@SnoopDogg is asking the Jack Army to join him in a pre-match towel twirl this evening. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats 20 minutes before kick-off, and to twirl the towels as Snoop walks on the pitch.”

The X post included footage of the rapper demonstrating to supporters how to wave their specially crafted towels. He declared: “Swansea City, we created these towels right here for everybody to grab one and wave them in the air. Let’s go!”.
Here, Mirror Football has delved into Snoop Dogg’s background, examining his reasons for backing Swansea with the enormous wealth his musical career has produced, reports the Mirror.
What is Snoop Dogg’s net worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Snoop Dogg boasts an overall fortune of £118million ($160m). This wealth has been amassed through his extraordinary journey as a rapper, producer, businessman and actor. The 54-year-old exploded onto the music landscape in the early 1990s following a crucial boost from Dr. Dre.
Beyond his rap empire, Snoop has explored countless commercial opportunities over the decades. He has presented a cooking programme alongside fellow Swansea backer Stewart and published a recipe book.
Snoop also possesses a wine brand and created a children’s show, Doggyland, designed to teach positive principles to youngsters through melodies and traditional rhymes.
Why did Snoop Dogg invest in Swansea City?
Snoop Dogg pointed to Swansea’s working-class heritage as the motivation behind his choice to acquire a minority shareholding in the club in July 2025. Speaking on the club’s website, he said: “My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City.
“The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.
“I’m proud to be part of Swansea City. I am going to do all I can to help the club, and I look forward to getting to know all my YJBS.”
What other football team does Snoop Dogg support?
Swansea isn’t the only club Snoop has feelings for; he’s also developed a deep connection with Scottish powerhouse Celtic after being gifted a jersey back in 2005. When asked about potentially assuming a role at Celtic Park in 2025, the rap legend declared: “I don’t know about coach, but as an investor sure.
“Investing in Celtic is something I have talked about in the past and if the opportunity was right I would be down for it. Celtic is a huge club and fans want to see the best players playing in this great stadium. All the owners have got to do is ask.”
Snoop also disclosed to the Sunday Mail last year that he fancies establishing a food van outside the venue to bring his culinary enthusiasm to Glasgow. He stated: “I would love to bring a pop-up burger [van] to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good.
“It’s got to be Celtic Park, man. The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple-cured bacon.
“The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself.”
Who is Snoop Dogg’s wife?
Snoop Dogg has been wed to childhood sweetheart Shante Broadus since 1997, having met as teenagers and attended prom together. The rapper did file for divorce in 2004, citing irreconcilable differences.
Despite this setback, the pair patched things up after a brief split without officially dissolving their union. They exchanged vows again in 2008 and last year celebrated over 28 years as a couple, with their 30th wedding milestone due in 2027.
The rap legend opened up about what keeps their bond strong during a 2023 interview with TODAY. He explained: “I think because we were both young and we were both willing to sacrifice for each other. She knew what my dreams and goals was, and at the same time, I knew what hers were.
“To have a family and to be who we are… we both wanted to get to that goal, and when we reached it, it was hard, definitely, because you got so many different things pulling you away from marriage, and people divorcing every other day.
“But when you truly love somebody, there ain’t nothing you can do to break that up and I feel like that was true love at first sight.”
Shante works as Snoop’s business manager as well as being his spouse. The duo have three offspring together: lads Corde, 29, and Cordell, 27, alongside daughter Cori, 24.
Snoop also has a fourth child with Laurie Helmond, 24 year old lad Julian Corrie Broadus.
