A paedo is facing deportation to the UK after his secret diving instructor life in the Philippines was uncovered. Andrew Charles Beaumont was arrested by the Southeast Asian country’s intelligence service on February 16.
The 47-year-old British national was detained during a sting at a scuba centre he owns with his wife. The former teacher stands accused of living and working illegally in the Philippines for several years.
Beaumont – who was jailed for four years for having sex with a student and possessing child abuse imagery – appears to have been living under the alias Andy Visca according to his social media. The Sun reports the Foreign Office is aware of the case and are working with Filipino authorities.
Joel Anthony Viado of the Philippines Bureau of Immigration released a statement on the case, which read: “It is absolutely unacceptable for foreign sex offenders to come to our country. We express our outrage against anyone – especially foreigners – who seek to victimize minors and violate their innocence.
“The Bureau of Immigration will relentlessly pursue and deport individuals who pose a threat to our children. We stand firm in our commitment to safeguard children.
“Through our #ShieldKids campaign and close coordination with international and local law enforcement agencies, we will ensure that predators find no refuge in the Philippines.”
The Philippines Bureau of Immigration added that Beaumont is a registered sex offender in the UK and is subject to a life-long Sexual Offence Notification Order issued in 2012.
In 2009, Beaumont was jailed for four-and-a-half years for having sex with a 15-year-old student he taught at a high school in Melbourne, Australia. He pleaded guilty to nine charges including sexual penetration of a child under 16 under his authority and possession of child pornography, local media reported at the time.
It comes as a paedophile teacher, 71, could face chemical castration after he was convicted of raping a schoolgirl, 15, resulting in her giving birth to his son. The rapist was jailed in Kazakhstan for 15 years after evidence found him guilty of sex attacks over a three-day period.
The law in the ex-Soviet republic allows for chemical castration of paedophile rapists. The horrific case led to an angry dispute in the village in Turkestan region with residents seen on video demanding the family of the jailed paedophile move away.
