Dubai vacationers ‘get up to WW3’ as missiles soar overhead in terrifying scenes
Iran fired missiles at the United Arab Emirates as part of a revenge strike across the Middle East after the US and Israel carried out attacks on offices of Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
Tourist in Dubai have been sent into a major panic as Iranian missiles fly overhead. Terrifying footage shared on social media showed the deadly rockets streaking across the sky above the United Arab Emirates city.
Holiday-makers were soaking up the sun by a pool when the missiles suddenly appeared. Iran fired missiles off at a number of targets in the Middle East after the US and Israel attacked offices belonging to the country’s supreme leader Ali Ayatollah Khomeini. In the video with over half a million views, a woman says “Oh my god” as she pans the camera to the sky.
Shen then says, “they are bombing it”. In a separate video, a British man told how he woke up in Dubai to find world war three had apparently kicked off.
He said: “I just landed in Dubai last night and I have woken up to what seems like world war three happening. Apparently missiles have just landed in Abu Dhabi which is about an hour drive from Dubai.
“I was about to go to a beach club and have a nice Saturday afternoon.” It comes as Richard Keys was taken off a live beIN Sports broadcast after the UK government urged Britons in the Middle East to ‘seek immediate shelter’ following US strikes on Iran.
The presenter, who has been based in Qatar for 13 years, was unable to broadcast as the region plunged into turmoil, with beIN’s programming instead originating from London.
The former Sky Sports host announced he would not be presenting a programme on Saturday. He posted on X: “Thank you all for your messages. It was a bit lively earlier. I don’t have space to express my feelings about that idiot Trump. No show today.
“You’ll be in the capable hands of our colleagues in London. Thoughts and prayers for everyone in our region. Ramadan Kareem,” reports the Mirror.
Keys’ remarks came after a warning from the UK’s Foreign Office to those across several Middle Eastern nations. Following the joint assault on Iran by Israel and the US, Iran has launched attacks on Israel and Qatar alongside other regional targets.
“Due to reported missile attacks, British nationals in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates should immediately shelter in place,” they stated. “Remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities.”
Explosions have been reported in the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait. Israeli officials have also confirmed that Iran launched missiles towards their nation following the strikes.
